Audit Committee

This committee is charged with ensuring that the books, records and journals of the association have been properly maintained. The committee will conduct no less than two audits per year.

Beautification Committee

This committee is charged with beautification of public places within the community.

Budget Committee

The committee reports to the association's Treasurer and is charged with:

  • establishing the budget for the association
  • seeking sources of sponsorship
  • fundraising for the association
  • recommending the amount of annual dues to the Executive Board
  • seeking and reviewing bids for association expenses and events, and
  • recommending the most feasible method of distributing association news

The committee should include:

  • the Treasurer (who chairs the committee)
  • the Administrator
  • a Sponsorship Coordinator
  • a Fundraising Coordinator
  • at least two additional members assigned to various committee duties

Bylaws Committee

This committee is charged with reviewing and recommending any necessary changes to the association's Constitution and Bylaws.

Code Enforcement Committee

The committee is charged with acting as a liaison with Southampton Town concerning issues related to town code enforcement.

Education Committee

The committee is charged with gathering, disseminating and assisting in addressing educational issues, school board, school tax and school budget issues.

Government Involvement Committee

The committee is charged with

  • gathering information important to the members of our association and community from various sources including town government
  • attending town board meetings
  • working with town government and other various agencies in the betterment of our respective hamlets

The committee should include at least 5 people who can attend town board meetings and other meetings by various public agencies and report to the Executive Board.

Membership Committee

It is important that the association have strong representation from each of the three hamlets. The committee is charged with actively seeking members from all hamlets to attend meetings and become involved with issues and projects affecting our respective communities.

Nominating Committee

The committee is charged with seeking members who would serve on the Executive Board. Nominees should be a fair representation of the three hamlet communities. Committees should meet at least three months prior to an annual election of the Executive Board to discuss possible nominations and to ensure that the Executive Board will have a fair representation of our respective hamlets.

Publicity Committee

The committee is charged with

  • gathering information concerning events, activities, and meetings of the association
  • informing the news media of upcoming meetings, events, and activities of the association
  • preparing and distributing an association newsletter in the most economical and feasible means possible to inform the members of our association
  • maintaining the association's website
  • set dates, times and places of general meetings

The committee should include:

  • two or three reporters to gather information who will inform the following persons of events, activities, meetings, and of important events and information concerning the community: (a) the news media, (b) the newsletter author, (c) webmaster.
  • at least one newsletter author
  • one webmaster
  • one administrative person to set up general meetings

Special Projects

The committee is charged with 

  • taking a proactive role in seeking changes in a wide range of areas for the betterment of our community as a whole (for example, projects may include securing a separate zip code, working to reduce school taxes, lobbying for municipal trash removal, encouraging commerce, etc.)
  • meeting with representatives from governmental and other agencies, potential developers, business owners, school boards, etc.
  • attending related meetings
  • involvement in preparing and submitting petitions or letter-writing campaigns for needed services, benefits, improvements or economic advantages 

The committee should include at least 10 members who can serve in various capacities during the different stages of the special project(s). 

Youth Committee

The committee is charged with

  • establishing recreational and social events and activities within our hamlets
  • seeking active participation by the youth of our community.
  • seeking input from community youth as to what activities and events would be desired
