“Long Island Last Stand” authors, Bob DeLuca, President of the Group for the South Fork and Stewart Lowery of the Nature Conservacy spoke about our natural resources and land uses.  Key legislation in protecting our resources have been the Pine Barrens Act in 1994 and the Community Preservation Fund (CPF) in 1998 (which expires in 2020).  Protecting natural habitats and drinking water needs protection forever.  Funding ideas are needed to purchase to preserve parcels that have not been developed.  Questions were then opened to the floor.
